Top 5 Sustainability Tips for Hillside LivingMost parents can relate to the feeling – you’ve reached the home stretch of the school holidays, but inspiration is seriously flagging. We’ve pulled together some of the best local activities and events to make planning the remainder of the winter break a breeze!
Make the most of The Ginger Factory’s free activities
Where: 50 Pioneer Rd, Yandina
Free to enter and open 7 days a week, the Ginger Factory is a favourite for our Hillside families. Make the most of the free activities this school break – including an all-day arts and crafts station. Weekday visitors can also enjoy live book readings, movie screenings and a meet-and-greet with everyone’s favourite accident-prone dragon, Zog.
Best of all, no bookings are required. Find out more about the winter holiday schedule here.
Bonus tip: Stop off at the Big Pineapple on the way home if energy levels permit!
Take on Australia Zoo’s Despicable Me Adventure Trail
Where: 1638 Steve Irwin Way, Beerwah
If you’re raising your own wildlife warriors, chances are you have an annual pass to the zoo (if not, we highly recommend it!). This school holiday, the zoo is celebrating the release of Despicable Me 4 with an epic adventure trail of animal superpower discovery. With prizes for every participant, this makes for the ideal day out for you and your little minions.

Blow off steam at Boulder Move
Where: 24a Innovation Pkwy, Birtinya
When the kids are quite literally starting to climb the walls, take them to Boulder Move! Indoor bouldering provides a challenging, yet safe way for participants to push themselves to new heights!
Children of all ages are welcome to practise monkeying around (please note: under 17-year-olds must be accompanied by an adult), so it’s the perfect place to burn off some energy. Finish off with a visit to Bould Bean Cafe to refuel.
